Lori Baldwin is an artist originally from the USA, currently living and working in Budapest. She has been making original performance work both in collectives and individually since 2009. She is a queer feminist artist and activist creating havoc and play by facilitating inclusive party spaces and performance events. As a BDSM practitioner, she is interested in the intimacy that can be created in subversive and explicit power dynamics and the physical actions that accompany them. In Sound Acts she presented "The Villages", a solo performance and sound piece that was born out of frustrations with her biological family. "The Villages" offers the space for a moment of unexpected connection, challenging preconceived notions of how we typically connect with one another. The audience was invited to sit with the performer on stage for this intimate, interactive experience.
