Alkistis-Lara Papadaki
|
Alkistis-Lara Papadaki is a visual artist from Athens. She makes collages and objects. She very much likes abject art, the majority of experiences that have to do with food and the coexistence of warmth and comfort in a setting of uneasiness. In Sound Acts she presented an interactive performance/happening in which food, remains and vomit coexisted, challenging the audience to face disgust. The experience consisted of a film in which a female body throws up and re-eats the same material, a reading of texts by Luce Irigaray and Julia Kristeva (Powers of Horror) and a serving of abject-looking food for the audience in small trays. |
